The Blackstar Dept.10 Boost is a revolutionary tube-based boost pedal. With a Class A gain stage, engaging this pedal will give your sound more muscle and depth, while preserving dynamics and tonal purity. Great for adding tube warmth to your solid state amp, as a clean boost, or pushing the front end of your tube amp for a singing, overdriven sound that is rich in harmonics. The simple yet effective James Baxandall style EQ section lets you cut or boost bass and treble as needed, and also cleverly adjusts the midrange contour as well (turn down both lows and highs for a mid boost!)
What also makes the Dept. 10 Boost extra special is it can be powered by the usual 9-volt DC pedal power supply; no need for 18V or 16V power supplies. This makes the Dept. 10 Boost very easy to incorporate in any pedalboard setup. A built-in buffer/line driver maintains tonal integrity even when using long cables or effects chains.
